FLUTE LESSONS

Stephanie Hulsey

Ms. Stephanie Hulsey holds two Bachelor's degrees from McNeese State University, Lake Charles, Louisiana: Music Education and Music Performance, Flute with a minor in piano. While at McNeese, Ms. Hulsey began her teaching career in 2010 and studied flute with Dr. Judy Hand. She performed on flute and piccolo with numerous ensembles, including musical theatre, in addition to placing in the Louisiana Flute Society piccolo competition (3rd) in 2011. In 2013, Ms. Hulsey was invited to perform in Baylor University's Flute Seminar with Marianne Gedigian, Francesca Arnone, and Jim Walker.

After graduating with honors in 2013, Ms. Hulsey attended Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas to pursue a Master's degree in Flute Performance with an emphasis on pedagogy. During her studies with Dr. Adah Jones, Ms. Hulsey traveled to perform in Plovdiv, Bulgaria's Musicartissimo music festival in 2015 and studied with Sofia's flute professor, Lydia Oshavkova. Ms. Hulsey performs with the Silver Voices professional flute choir around central Texas and in Chicago at the National Flute Convention per audition.

Ms. Hulsey currently lives in New Braunfels with her two dogs and teaches in the Buda to San Antonio areas full time.
